Aster quitensis (Willd. ex Spreng.)
Ecuador: Pichincha Province
|local name: -|
extinction date: (?)
|The Quito Aster is known
only on the basis of the typus collection, which was collected at the
beginning of the 19th century near today's capital city of Ecuador, Quito.
The plant was never found again, and the region is now mostly deforested and urbanised, so that this species must be considered most likely extinct.
