|This species is historically
known from four localities on the island of Kaua'i.
The species was dependent on large stands of Koa Acacias (Acacia koa), which occosionally were infected by a bacterium that caused a slime flux, in which then again apparently the larvaes of that fly developed.
This species was last seen in the year 1992.
