distribution:

Ecuador: Pichincha Province

This bromeliad species in known only on the basis of the typus material which was collected in the year 1876.

The former habitat of this plant, the rainforest at the base of the volcano Pululahua in the Ecadorian province Pichincha, is now used agriculturally and is therefore completely deforested.

The Pululahua Guzmania is therefore most likely extinct now.
