Justicia as well as the Short-spiked Justicia (Justicia brachystachya
(((Nees) Baker))) is one of those plant species whose taxonomic status is
unclear, and whose origin seems to be unresolved as well.
Both species may come from the island of Mauritius, however, other authors regard to the island of Madagascar as the actual place of origin.
Both species are furthermore considered probably extinct, but may just as well still be extant.
