Pipistrellus sturdeei   (Thomas)

Sturdee's Pipistrelle
(Pipistrellus sturdeei)

syn. -

local name: -

size: (?)

extinction date: (?)

Sturdee's Pipistrelle was scientifically described in the year 1915 and is up to now known only from the typus specimen, which was collected sometimes at the end of the 19th century at an unknown place.

Some sources give the island of Hahajima in the Ogasawara Islands as the place of origin for this species, but this seems to be an error.

The taxonomical status of this animal is in fact also not fully resolved.
