| Subfossil remains from the
island of Mangaia show that once as many as three species from the genus
Porzana lived here at the same time. This up to now undescribed species was smaller than the Mangaia Crake (Porzana rua), which is extinct too, as well than the Spotless Crake (Porzana t. tabuensis), which may still live on Mangaia today. |
